I have a lone Metering block with 2917 stamped into it, can anyone help me id it? I called holley and they were zero help and i know some of you are carb gurus. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Holley Illustrated Parts & Specs book lists many of the original metering block(s) under the parts lists of each carb, I’ve gone through my copy and highlighted most of the early Ford models. A quick glance found a couple matches, both secondary metering blocks - List 1982 1959 & 1960 Ford Truck with 534 engine, List 1982-1 ( Same ), List 2156 1961 1962 1963 Ford Truck with 534 engine, List 2156-1 ( Same ), List 2156-2 ( Same ).
It’s possible there are other applications, but those are the ones I have highlighted.

Just a couple warnings - it’s not “easy” to cross reference the metering blocks through the Holley Illustrated Parts & Specs book that way, but it is usually possible, here’s a sample listing from that List 2156 carb. Also, for most of the real common Holleys, like the 1850, 3310, Double pumpers, etc. there were so many metering blocks used over the years they don’t even bother to list them under the parts list, just a replacement part number, so it won’t help to ID those. I mention it because the price of that book has gone up considerably since I bought mine, just want to make sure the info it contains is worth it.
