Cool story with a couple of badass Comets. Dale's Mustang is ok too. ;) I'm wondering if the ramp truck mentioned belongs to Rory?

Naw, my ramp truck only ran 18s, the one time I ran it, they were refering to Tom Ps 53 F350, with a 428 FE. I don`t recall it ever running 13s, but it did run some 14s about 15 years ago, but has been parked for almost as long.
Bill and his Comet any pretty cool, It would no doubt be quicker and more reliable with a race trans, like a Jerico or G Force, but since Bill drives the Comet on the highway to the track, and with , I believe 5.14 gears, the overdrive is pretty much mandatory. In addition to swapping out the rear tires and removing the exhaust system, Bill also sleeps in the pits in a tiny 1 person tent. everything comes to the track inside the car, 1 slick in the trunk, 1 in the back seat, floor jack and tool box, as well as his tent all fit inside. A few years ago, Bill was pitted right next to my trailer, and woke up soaking wet after a heavy overnight rainstorm. The race was rained out for the Sunday, so will was absolutely drenched by the tie he had the street tires and exhaust on, and everything packed up. When he jumped in the drivers seat to head for home, I asked if he was going to change his wet clothes first, he said, "No, the heater works good, I will be dry by the time by the time I get to the ferry terminal". Certainly hardcore, even if he was 50 years younger! I am only 62, and at times I wonder how long I will still be racing, but if Bills any indication, I guess some of us "kids" need to try to keep up with him. Its always nice to chat with Bill at the track, back in the 70s, he was racing hs original 65 Comet at the old Mission track, and I bet he still fits into the same red coveralls! He is absolutely an inspiration to many of us fortunate enough to know him.

You mean Dave? Is that Dales brother? Or maybe it's just an alias, to throw off authorities? ;D ;D
"Dave Posnik, who runs a 1967 Mustang fastback powered by a 428-cubic-inch V-8, stepped in to trailer Friend’s Comet back to Victoria."

Yeah, that was just one of a few errors/typos/inaccuracies in that article. Dale does have siblings, none named Dave as far as I know. But regardless Bill is old(er), his Comet is cool and fast, and he does drive it to and from the track, and on the ferry.

I thought Dale P and Tom P were related ? All confused now

It can't hurt having Howie Stevens helping you! He is a very smart guy. Congrats to Bill . I hope I'm still racing at 82 as it's only 15 years away.LOL
