Not the Z-Gate.  Verti-Gate maybe.  What I did with my three speed Mr. Gasket floor shift was to flip the rod brackets so 1 to 2 was a straight pull.  3rd with a 2.79 rear end was "cruise mode".  All the gettin' with a 289, 4 bbl, headers and a 3 speed RAN was in 1 and 2.
