Title: TFS single plane track heat
Post by: Sand hauler on October 09, 2019, 09:58:44 PM
Now that they have been out awhile, curious as to what the consensus is on the track heat single plane intake compared to the Edelbrock offerings?

In a drag race application it picked up nearly a tenth in 8th mile over an aluminum dual plane. Also ports matched up almost perfect to stock heads all we had to do was bolt it on.

That manifold is happy from about 4000-up.  On a big stroker, it could work at 3000 with the right cam.  In most streetable apps, the Performer RPM is still the way to go.  Most engines spend most of their time in a range where that intake isn't awake yet.  If you are going to operate at 4000-up, it is a good choice.  I did considerable work to it in the plenum, but the material is there, and it wouldn't be bad out of the box.

Similar volume, just shaped a little different in places.

That does sound like a better option than the Victor, would you say that it's a cross between the Victor and the old street master? My cam doesn't start coming in till about 3500 anyway, so could be a good match.
