Also looks like possibly a crack at #3 main.

Looks like a second stress crack just below the first one 90*. I wonder what caused it to crack in the first place? Could be Tig welded and re drilled.

This may be why no BBM aluminum blocks on the market. Appears to be cast exactly as the iron block.

Could be casting flash In that #3 main area. Hard to tell without a closer picture.

Repairable.  Not sure how you do that in the first place.  Dropped it with studs on?  Hydraulic locked bolt?

Odd, very odd it cracked after it was run-in and not at initial torquing. Can be fixed but......

It seem to have a sturdy main Saddle bulkhead based on the pictures compared to Ponds aluminum block . Sure is a weird place for a crack

I wonder if a front motor plate changes the loads in that area at all.

I bet you are right.  Had a Honda SCCA racer guy come to me for a build, (yuk, but might do it for something different LOL) broke a block because he oiled the studs "real good" and then tightened them by double nutting them.......    :o

Talked to a friend about this....he's confident it could be repaired, but would need to dig away that whole corner and build it all back up.

So if anyone is wondering, it is repairable, but needs to be done by someone pretty dang good.
