Title: Edelbrock heads. Differences? #6005
Post by: 67428GT500 on May 28, 2019, 05:25:20 PM
I have called Edelbrock three times. They have me leave a return contact number and didn't call me in five days now. Is anyone familiar with this number? I presume they're decent heads?

16 bolt exhaust pattern,  little bit smaller combustion chamber, cj style heads. I have had my 6 double 0 five heads since early 2000's. They have been hand ported and massaged a few times then finally cnc'ed by kuntz back in 2016. 6005 is one of the first series of the edelbrock heads.

I have 6005 heads.  They are the 16 bolt "72cc" unmachined chamber head.

Manufacturer sites can leave something to be desired. I went to Edelbrock's site and they do not have a comparison feature.

So, if you go to Summit's site, https://www.summitracing.com/ you can select the various heads and check the comparison box then see the actual differences.  The 6005 is just the basic medium riser configuration with a 16-bolt CJ flange and built with springs for a hydraulic roller cam.  The 6069 is the same head but has springs for a flat tappet cam.

Hope that helps.

I tried to cross reference the heads. I am guessing they are the same as the 60069 heads currently offered. 72CC chamber, 2.09 int, 1.66 exhaust wih CJ bolt pattern and 170CC runners.
