Title: Anyone familiar with these heads?
Post by: 67428GT500 on April 23, 2019, 06:07:04 AM
 Renegade 11927B; 170 Aluminum 72cc for Ford 390-428 FE.
Anyone have any experience with these? I understand you can run 2.25 X 1.75 valves with a 4.130 bore?

Look like Pro Comp heads, just rebranded, which there are a lot of. Cheap Chinese junk that gets really bad reviews about heat treating, quality etc.

When one Googles your link (says 'Renegade') the name Pro-Comp also pops up.

Danger, Will Rogers!

Good information to have! Speedmaster was another brand I saw quite a few of for a while.

Stevens cylinder heads from China
Sold under a thousand names on ebay and all over the internet
Every one of them will claim that the stuff is made to the utmost specifications and guarantees perfection
None of them even know where the stuff is really made or who is really making it.
Could be a state of the art aerospace facility
Could be a dirt floor lean to

The ones I actually held in my hands felt like pumice they were so light.  I would not trust the heat treat, and valve seats from moving a lot under high spring pressures.  JMO, but there are so many good choices now, why try to save a couple of hundred and have to do everything over again.  Joe-JDC

Keith, Did you call edelbrock like you said you were after we spoke?

Jack, Yes. I did. I am waiting for a return call. The engineer that did those heads is no longer with Edelbrock. So they'll have to reference the CAD/Print so we can figure out if the 2.25/1.75 valves will clear a 4.140 bore.

I'm running 2.250's and 1.750's in my edelbrock 6005 kuntz prepaired heads with a 4.140" bore. They clear just fine.
