This is a 63 ford 390 bellhousing and I am trying to put a new spring clip on the clutch release lever, cuz the old one broke. It's been out long enough that I can't remember how it goes back together. Can anyone explain how this goes on the clutch fork? Bellhousing is off and have new cluch fork rubber boot, throwout bearing, and spring clip.
embarassed to say the least, Bud

I'm dealing with something similar, and it looks like the spring hooks at the small tab on the bottom of the pivot bracket and pokes out the fork sides. There are many threads on the Ford sites where people used pliers to force the spring and snapped it.

THANKS for the reply, I have visited other sites and found a picture that showed exactly how the spring is mounted. I used an old screwdriver with a small V ground in the tip to push it on. Thanks for your response. No one else on here must know with all the viewers that saw my post or just didn't care to help.

I just saw this. I would have offered assistance. They stopped using the wire spring in 1967. Perhaps some aren't familiar.
