LR heads and RPM intake?
Jon
-
I like the Felpro MS90145 for iron heads.
-
I agree, low riser 2x4 intake with iron heads and with survival heads.
Just switched to a gasket that I got through Barry when I switched to BT 2x4 intake.

The 90145 aren't a good choice. They also don't compress well. Low Riser port is 1246-S3. Those have the shim steel center.

x2 on the 1246-S3's ....albeit, after 2 cruise seasons of running those, I noticed some squirming developing .....when I changed out my iron heads for Ed's last spring.
Also, if this is your first time mounting an RPM intake on iron heads, dry fit the intake first, with gaskets ...then measure 'china wall' gap to see if you have room for the end seals --or not. .......Don't do like I did, ....and wind up crop dusting the neighborhood on the first test drive, lol.

Sorry mixed up the numbers the 1246s are the one never had a problem. ::)

The 1246 is the printo seal we all had issues with. The 1246 S3 was the improved with the shim. These are for the tall port/low riser configuration. Barry Robotnic's brain child. -Keith

I dunno, I still like the regular MS90145's They compress enough to do the job.

They may be fine with iron, not with aluminum.

I have never had an issue with the blue Felpro, aluminum or iron. Could you have had surface alignment issues? In fact I wish they made a med riser version
-
I believe the 1247-S3 is for medium riser ports. If it has an S then it is reinforced.

Yes. 1246-S3 is Low Riser ports. 1247-S3 Med Riser ports.
