Title: Measurements of aluminum rocker spacers
Post by: Bolted to Floor on April 08, 2019, 11:17:15 PM
What should be the inside dimension of an aluminum rocker spacer? I slid each of them over an old shaft and found more clearance than I expected. I want to make sure these are worthy of selling or just scrap aluminum.

Thanks

I used a dial caliper on them this morning. They all measured .844 to .845 inches.

What is the diameter is the rocker shafts supposed to be?

What amount of clearance is acceptable?

Thanks.

Well im no expert but i think that not that important.  The only thing
they do is keeping the rockers in place sideways.

The original Ford spec for the rocker shaft OD varied a tiny bit in some model years. The shaft OD spec in the 1968 Ford Shop Manual is 0.839 - 0.840. Aftermarket & replacement shafts can vary a bit more.
