Title: 10R80 Teardown
Post by: FElony on March 23, 2019, 05:24:16 PM
Yike! What a beast. Who's gonna be the first to put one of these behind an FE? May never be possible. Or a 6R80, either? Manual-shift only, paddles on steering wheel. With somebody's Cross Ram 427? Feasible?

A stand alone controller is available for the 6r80.

A 3.7 bellhousing looks close to the FE.

Well, knock yourself out and let us know how it works!  ;D  Trying to find a used 6R around here is ridiculous. I'm sure the trans rebuilders are snorting up every one they can find.

$1300.00 for a controller, out of my league.

The mod motor bellhousing could be adapted to the FE by using a smaller ring gear on the FE flexplate so it fits inside the bell. Then a thin bolt pattern adapter for the block pattern.

I didn't even check that. Ouch.

Where did you see this done?
