Title: Carter 4070 Electric fuel Pump
Post by: Saltshaker on December 20, 2018, 07:21:06 PM
Is this pump enough to support a 500hp FE...it flows72galper hr.  I added this to back up a carter mech pump. I was running out of fuel on the track and could not get 5200 in 3rd. With the electric pump I get 5800 but thinking it should pull harder. Also, using a 8x2 air cleaner...

My Carter will hit 7200 rpm in any gear but yet to try it in fourth with a 3.70 gear because I just don't want to go that fast in my skinny VW front tires , I do run 1/2 inch fuel line with stock tank and a drop sump to a Y-Block under the Hood and then 3/8ths to each carburetor bowl of the 2x4

I ran one on a 302 in my Ranger because they are quiet and durable. I don't think it's enough volume for a big block, at least not enough to solve your issue.
