Funny but true. On HAMB He needed some main caps for the 2nd non running engine so I sent him a pair. Just wanted to see this thing finished.
He sent me a bunch of Stromberg WW carbs and parts in return.

That is pretty cool. Even if you don't like some of the crazy rods of the 60's, you have to recognize the impact Ed Roth had on the industry. Pretty cool tribute.
Funny, the first picture you can see there is no hose hooked up to the water pump inlet and I immediately thought, really? Then I kept reading where he did make one engine run and now I'm more ok with it LoL.

Didn't the original Mysterion have twin 406's in it?
Legend has it that the weight of the 2 FE's broke the original frame and the car went into obscurity.
Great car! Mrs.-T and myself had the pleasure of looking over the re-creation at the Western Street Rod Nationals in Bakersfield, CA, this year.

Yes and No, The original Mysterion was recorded to have a pair of 406's, but they were actually 390's. Ed was going to build it around a pair of Oldsmobiles, but Ford offered him the motors for free.

I liked those kinds of creations back then, still do.

As a kid i loved those sculptured bodies, and still does
But now i See so much i should have done different
Like on this one, lined up the side scoop and body line
with the center of the rear wheel

Anybody catch the remark about the 3 engines given to Roth? 2 were used in the Mysterion and the 3rd went into Roth's 55 Chevy. I bet that sent the Chevy freaks into heart palpitations. ;D

Ed Roth's FE Chevy is legendary. At Hot August Nights in Reno just before he passed away he had a booth selling his wares. Rat Fink dolls, paintings, etc. A huge wind and rain storm came up suddenly and blew his EZ-Up over along with the paintings and posters. I went over to help and the heavy rain hit so I had a good 15 minutes of huddle and chat. Very cool guy and he when he found out I was an FE guy he mentioned that 55 Chevy.
