I'm not bashing this auction at all, so don't start that. I'd like to know if this is realistic or not given I've not seen many 6x2's for sale. I've got a pipe dream of owning one, but damn thats a lot of scratch!

For the same money, perhaps a 6x2/8x2 blower top could be mated to a cleveland tunnel ram on top of one of Jays new adapter manifolds. Rediculous, inefficient, just what I may need. ;D

It seems to me that it wouldn't be too much trouble to fabricate an old fashioned style 6x2 log manifold using a PSE base...
You know, like the old Crower manifold kits with rubber hoses connecting the two banks?......the F68 is basically a cast log manifold anyway.
An old fashioned log would look right at home on early hot rods all the way up to early 60s FE powered cars.
And the cool thing is when you decide to come back to reality you can easily change it back to 1x4...or?
And you won't have to disassemble the whole shebang to remove it ...like the F68

^^^ No clue what those are worth or how well they work... I know they look cool as heck with all those lil' carbs sitting up there. ;D For that kinda scratch if it's mostly for show I'd get an estimate from a local shop to CNC some carb adapters for each intake port and a flat blank off plate for the valley pan, distributor, water etc. to see if that route was more cost effective.

Not in my book. For that kinda' cash, buying a custom Hogan's intake may be a better deal.....EFI capable as well.

That is a ridiculous price. I paid $500 for mine, and I thought that was a medium price. I've seen them go on ebay for anywhere from $400 to $700 when the seller actually wants to sell the manifold, instead of just fishing...

Thanks for the info guys, lots of good ideas.
What about an 8x2 PSE style manifold top (ala Weber IDA style) for the new manifolds? ;D That would be super cool and would be neat to see how it performs since you could basically tune each carb to each cylinder. Market demand of 1 probably doesn't justify it, but would be interesting. ;)

So, you are saying 8 2 barrel carbs, one for each cylinder? That's a little scary. Here's a photo we took dyno testing the 6X2 intake:

I going to build a FI intake with eight 2 inch throtlle bodies
im waiting for the PSE bottom.I have gathered most the parts
for it and the loooong winter starts in a few weeks so hopefully
i have it ready by spring

If you're going to run any type of fuel injection Heo (mechanical, timed Lucas or modern EFI) you should get the Kinsler book (the long verison) as it's a great resource:

Correction: Kinsler no longer does the old Can-Am (think: 494 big block Chevy rat motors in McClaren M-6 to M-8) F.I. systems for Bosch......Lucas yes!

I have worked some with a Kinsler Mec FI that a friend had
in a skiboat. Apeared to be god quality
