It likely won't be until late spring or early summer when my 427/520 will be ready to install in the 63 Galaxie, so I've taken up some other projects in the garage while I wait. Idles hands and what not, right? I dabble in CNC plasma and powder coating, so I made myself a large 427 sign. I feel like a bit of a poser hanging it in my shop while a 352 resides under the Galaxie hood, but that'll be rectified soon enough. It'll keep the neighbors guessing, anyway. :)

Very cool indeed!
-
How large is it?
-
Judging by the screw heads it looks pretty big.
I didn't even know Cnc Plasma powder coating was a thing. Now I just want a massive 427 bird in my shop :P

The one I made for myself is 48", but I don't have a good pic of that one yet. The one pictured is a 30" sign that I made for a buddy. I built a powder coat oven that you could fit like 8 dead hookers in, but unfortunately my plasma table only has a 4x4 envelope so that's as big as I could go.

Well, those are definitely two separate operations. Plasma cut then powder coat. :)

Powdercoating dead hookers much? :o ;D
Love the sign 8)

Hey if a customer pays for it, I'll find a way to PC it. ;D

Ya know Lars.... sometimes I just shake my head when you say stuff like that.... of course I'd still want to buy you a beer or two and chat about it.

;)

Well my 427/520 is still in-work, so I cut/powdercoated/lit another sign for the shop. This one is a little over 5' wide.

GLORIOUS!!! Brings a lump to the throat. :)

"Twitchin'" was, in fact, an expression similar to "bitchin'" in the San Fernando Valley, where I grew up, in the 70's. How far beyond the west end that expression lived, I have no idea. This preceded the lingo in the 80's song "Valley Girl" made famous by my customer Frank Zappa and his daughter Moon, and therefore never really made into Valleyspeak. Like, ohmygod, we're Vals, y'know? Yes, this is FElony's home turf: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qb21lsCQ3EM
