Scrap yard has a 1960 2-1/2 ton truck with a Y-block.
2bbl carb and stick, no distributor. . Is there a way to determine which Cube engine it is? He was told it's a 312 but from what I understand, you've got to look at the stroke.
Rams Horn exhaust manifolds on each side. It's available cheap if someone needs it.

Forgot to add. There is a rebuilders tag riveted to the lower pass. side skirt just above the oil pan rail.
It says bore +030, mains and rods cut to 10-10. I'll look Monday, maybe it says the rebuild date and the Cubes.
I normally get complete 360's and 390's for less than $100 so this might be a good purchase for someone. Unfortunate part is the location, SW Oregon.
But I do get to Colorado and Michigan once or twice a year and could drop in between.

More than likely it is a 292 truck engine.. The cranks are forged and it has the rams horn exhaust.. Those are easily sold pieces.. If the block is good it is probably one of the more desirable ones . The heads and intake are low perf items. If cheap and not a lot of work to get, snag it...
Oh by the way, it seems all Y blocks are 312s to the uninformed Just like all FEs are 427s or 428s

Royce: you evidently sold a 292 to a neighbor Brent who I talked to today. He'd called looking for a C-4 and was on the Yblockforever website.
So we talked and he mentioned you.
I did look at the Y-block site and it was quite interesting. Back in the mid 1990's I had 3 56 Fords 2 Vic's and a Crown Vic and had traded a riding Mower for a 292 never run out of a show car T-Bucket. It had a 2X4, 3X2 and some version of an aluminum intake. Chrome headers and all the show car extras. Because I didn't have a toploader I found in Hemmings a Trans-dapt Y-block Bellhousing to Chev BP 4 spd trans and bought it. A few years later I switched my interest to only FE's and sold the cars and engine to Carl ?? in Circleville Ohio. I see that he seems to be on the Y-Block site. Also sold 2 59 Fords a SunLiner and a Galaxie to someone NE of Toronto. I do still have the bellhousing and wonder if you would sell it for me on the Y-block site? It's new with the instructions and the sleeve/bushing for the crankshaft. I'd like $200 plus shipping from 97145 Brookings Oregon. I've also got all the adapters for a Latham Supercharger to a Y-Block but have since converted my Latham to a FE based platform. Just FYI.
PM or (Email me RPAdomitis at frontier .com) thanks in advance
