Title: 67 c6 leaking out of band adjustment bolt?
Post by: stroked67 on August 10, 2018, 09:53:33 PM
Noticed a couple drips of tranny fluid on my garage floor the other day. Tracked it down to being the band adjustnent bolt.  Ive never had this issue with a c6 before, what could this be caused by? Is it a problem deeper in the trans or just simply a bad locknut or adjustment bolt?

The locknut has a rubber seal integral to it. It’s customary to replace it during a rebuild. Shouldn’t be hard to find one.

As Drew said, replace the nut. Ford designed them to be 'one-use-only'.

Back off the nut a few threads, clean with some brake clean and put a dab of RTV under the nut.
