Hello, David Garton here new to this forum. Wondered where Jay went and missed his replys to help questions . 68 Cobra jet guy with a few cars. Just added a 68 CJ stocker raced by John Doosenberry out west. Looking to build a new engine for the car and thats how I found this sight. Not sure If I want to build a stocker or Stroke a big bore Shelby or Genisuss block and do the CJ shootouts and nastalgic meets. Searched this sight all day and looks like it is a serious FE engine builds and knowledge abundent. Heres a picture of the latested addition. Original paint, 430 gear car, Radio delete. Keeping it as it is but needs a motor. Any sugestions are welcomed.
David

Nice car. Since you asked for opinions, run it in stock eliminator similar to what it was before. You can run the car in "A", "B", or "C" depending on the weight of the car.
Here's Richie's '68 C/SA car:

Welcome, David, nice to have you here - Jay

Welcome David. Are you local to Denver? I'm just up the road in Ft. Collins. Pulling wheels at Bandimere is no small feat at a mile above sea level. Very impressive!

DrDano, Im in FL. Funny though the car came from John Cooper in Ft, Collins. I work so running the NHRA circuit is out. The car is not tubbed so to much power and torque might hurt me. A very vell built stocker engine would do the car well. On the fence right now but a decission will be made soon. Want to keep the car so that I can return it to stock trim some day.
Afret, Richie painted his car.. Looks good. I have a 135 car sat in a back yard in CA for 40 years.Blair Patrick built a motor last year and we returned to Bakersfield last October for the CHRR where it raced at the March Fuel Gas Chamionship in 1969.
Thanks David

Small world. I heard through the grapevine John was building a '64 Fairlane. Reminds me I need to go up to his shop and see if I can talk my way into seeing it. No clue if it will be FE powered or not, would be neat if it was a T-bolt clone with a high-riser.

Is that the cool original ss Mustang that was at the Old Racers Reunion this year in Panama City? Jessie Holmes (Jessie Holmes Performance) in Pensacola, FL is doing some races for FE powered cars. They will be in Meridian, MS at Battlefield Dragway with our Southerngassers on October 20th.
