That engine sounds great!  I think the chassis and wheels are a bit light for that much power  :o

When he first started it, I thought "That sounds exactly like one of those homebuilt or Conley V8 engines"...then I realized it was! Super cool. Not sure what carburetor he's using, but he seems to be one of the only ones that has gotten a good idle and part throttle performance down good. Very nice job! Only sketchy thing I see is that I'd have some sort of cover over that alternator pulley. One yank on his pants leg and he'll be thinking the same thing..lol

I saw elswhere it is just 392 cc that give just shy of 50cc per cylinder
Wounder how much Power??
He is using a BMW trans

Didn't realize that was a mini home built V8.  I saw that video a few months ago.

Doug, looks like a std motorcycle kind of carb(notice he pulls the wire to accel), thus drivability is improved over one/multi airplane carbs they typically run which either idle or WOT and not much inbetween.

Yep, that carb makes a huge difference, I'm sure. I watch a lot of those homebuilt engine videos, including the really amazing radial types for airplanes. That guy also seems to have his camshaft worked out really well. Lots of those V8 engines start breaking up or just plain flatten out when they get to mid rpms or higher. I imagine a camshaft for that small of an engine follows different rules compared to what is typically known on full size engines. Either way, he has done an outstanding job of actually putting one of those things to use.

had not had the time to check it out completly but he grind
his own cams i think and he built a 120cc V twin and.....

W Conley with only 396 cc and that restrictive intake and
small carb i think he has about 15-20 hp. And that frame
is similar to a Indian Powerplus 1919 1000cc i have that
develops 19 hp so i think it will be okay. Not that i would
compete in isle of man with it ;D

It would be a tough negotiation with my wife.  She pimps me out when people need things fixed.

I recently brought her dad's computer back from the dead, and she got some new shoes...  Somehow I know that this arrangement benefits me.   ::) ::)

Now if I could convince her to move to Sweden!
