Preference in order E, A OR C. I found a Watson 41 M1 but it looked kind of weak for my FE. If there is another design of smaller 3 speed that I am not aware of I would like to know more. A 7XXX series is too big for my use. Below is a link with a Spicer chart of the ratio's I want.
Thanks

We bought a 7041 from this outfit a few years ago, it was an excellent unit. http://www.andersonbrotherstruck.com/

Coolness, keep us posted. Do you know the ratios? I think the 5531 was a pre-5831. It might be 1.52:1, 1:1, .72:1.

Yes that is the ratios. The A has a little deaper underdrive than I wanted but it will work. I won't need to split gears but it will keep third gear about where I like it and a decent overdrive when I am running empty.
3.54 axle=
5.38 under
3.54 direct
2.55 over

Dang, 2.55 is pretty tall for a gasser. What size rig is it going in and engine build? What are you going to tow? I had a '79 Ford F-250 4x2 with a 400M, c-6 and 3.07, it wouldn't pull the hat off your head. After I installed the aux. in my F-350, I went from a 4.10 to 4.56, however it was setup for the log woods, steep hills and heavy loads. What I found was 3rd and over was a power house gear but caused 3rd/main box to overheat. I used up several NP435's and B/W T18's
