While I'm waiting to get my headers back from the coating joint I thought I might as well start the upgrades on my 427. I got the new roller cam put in and degreed and the heads temporarily put on while I check for intake fitment and measure for pushrods. One thing I did notice with the TF heads and Jay's adapter was there is a lot of port angle change between the intake and head. I think it is due to that hump in floor of the head I guess to make a more sweeping curve to the valve. Not sure if it help or hinder and at any rate I'll probably never know since I doubt I'll be doing a bunch of head swapping.

Looks good Alan. I'll bet that floor won't hurt you too badly. Which intake is that?

Thanks, Jay. That's a Trickflow Track Heat intake.

The ports seem to match up nicely. Just an uneducated guess, but I'll bet the hump and divider will keep the intake charge pushed up against the roof and help it follow the bowl contour into the cylinder, instead of slamming into the bowl as it would if it were a straight shot into it. What kind of cam and rocker system are you putting in this one, Alan?

That's kind of what I was thinking too. I have an off the shelf Comp 288R solid roller cam. I am using Dove HD rocker assembly that I have had for quite some time(but not used very much). I did have to massage the ports a little on the A-dapter(or should I say Jay-dapter, LOL) but not much. I may not make it to DW with it this year but I do hope to make some passes locally.

Alan not to rain on your parade but... my good friend ran that cam in a .037 over stock stroke 427 and on the dyno it totally fell off a cliff @6,100rpm sooo you might wanna rethink that one on a 452 incher.. Not to hijack the thread but was wondering how you made out on the cylinders on your 521 did Guesfords torgue plate hone it.......Tom

Well the cam's already in there so I'll probably go ahead and run it. But I am definitely open to suggestions. Thanks to Jay's adapter it won't be a big deal to swap cams. ;)
I talked to George last week and they have been snowed under and hadn't had a chance to dig into it yet. Only enough to tell me I did put the second ring on correctly( I was concerned) . I hope to get it back in a couple of weeks.
