Title: Rocker arm stud/ valve cover fittment
Post by: hwoods on June 29, 2018, 12:59:06 PM
I have a set of tall Mr Gasket valve covers.  supposed to be 4" tall.  I have a set of Survival Motorsports Heads, with the Edlebrock/ARP rocker arm studs.  The studs extend appx 7/8" above the rocker arm stand, keeps the valve cover from fitting down on the head?

is this a typical ocurance?  I would like to get this motor buttoned up

Thanks

Medice Mfg makes the tallest valve cover spacers I have seen at 1.0" tall.

Stack two gaskets together and see if that works.

Following Brent’s train of thought, here are some thicker VC gaskets.
These are 1/4

These are 5/16

Or shorten the offending stud?
Might just be one hitting a fill baffle - mark it and see.
Sometimes you can just cut a clearance hole in the baffle...
