My original 1962 Galaxie rear has the vent nipple on the drivers side tube. I picked up another rear that is identical in every way but the vent is on the pass side. I figure it has to be for a 1960-64 Galaxie. Neither rear looks to have been modified.
Anybody know why Ford made different vent locations?

My '64 has the brake line Tee fitting/vent on the drivers side. Is there threads on it for a nut to hold the Tee?

My 64 have the vent on passenger side and a hose up in the frame

Thanks. Both have the brake tee connection in the identical location on the drivers side.

I noticed the mystery rear also has the sheet metal lubricator scoop attached to a couple of the diff mounting studs (on the inside). My original 1962 axle housing does not have this.
Anybody know if the lubricator scoop is is for locking rear or for any specific Galaxie years?

Factory Fords ordered with the “ equal lock “ had the oil scoop as described.
Had a 1961 Fairlane 352 , T 85 OD , with equal lock & had the scoop.
