Wow those "Fly's Eye" are awful. I had them, Weiand Lynx ones, on my 427 and also on my 289 Pinto.

I got two with new filters in a parts buy a few years ago. Not sure to use them to be ginchy, and risk ridicule on a global level.

Grrh! I just had purchased the K&N 3" with filter top assembly, thining it was 'best' for a streeter and no hole in the hood. Nope!
Had a dropped base, about 1.5" Just ordered a flat base as I measured the fit and it should go. Will test by the seat of the pants the idea of duct taping the entire circumference of the 3" filter and seeing if, just using the filter top, it works to where I can feel the near 11 hp gain!
