Title: RobbMc sending unit or sump?
Post by: scott foxwell on May 26, 2018, 02:44:13 PM
Anyone have any experience with the bigger tube RobbMc fuel sending units? I have a new fuel tank for my 67 Fairlane and I'm at a cross roads whether or not to install a sump, or use the 1/2" pick up from RobbMc. Now's the time if I'm going to add a sump. Pro's and con's? TIA

I've got one on my 68 Mustang and will be buying another for my Shelby.  Mine came with AN fittings so hooking up the fuel lines was easy.  The only issue I have is the fuel gauge doesn't read quite right, but that problem may be elsewhere, perhaps the dash voltage regulator...

Welding a sump on a tank that has ever has gas in it is a risk. Then it also flakes the galvanizing off and clogs the filter.

Thanks guys. This is a brand new tank, so the dilemma. I went ahead and ordered the 1/2" sending unit. I can deal with the gas gauge. Thanks again for the input!
