Title: Shelby alum. block oil path?
Post by: PaulProe on April 28, 2018, 08:55:00 PM
Has a graphic showing the oil path in a Shelby aluminum block ever been developed? Used search and I see various comments about the lack of one, but those date back to 2004/2005

I am trying to trace and understand the oil path. I have this graphic from an old article of a stock side-oiler but Shelby's are not the same

The Shelby block uses basically the same oiling system as a small block Ford.  It is a true priority main oiling system, as opposed to an FE topoiler or sideoiler.  If you find a diagram for a 289 or 302 oiling system you will get the basic idea.

Thanks for the reply. Today, I traced all the paths. I then recorded it both written and tried to do it graphically by modifying the image I originally posted.

Hope you and other experts will look this over and advise any corrections.
