Found a pic of a Charger from my hometown from the 70s 392 Hemi with 6/71 blower 4 speed Dana 60
drooled over that many times when i was a kid

That's pretty damn cool.
If I was a kid and saw that in the 70s you would have had to pick my mouth up of the ground.

That one seems a little extreme with the rear tires, but I love the '70s look. Especially blowers and tunnel rams sticking through the hoods. ESPECIALLY tunnel rams sticking through the hoods! Hmmm, I might just have to try that here pretty soon. (hint hint 8))

That was the way to make room for tires back then, great picture. Nothing finer than imagining the side load on those 6 or 8" :o long shackles while you attempted canyon carving. Not much tech. That pic puts me to mind of a guy I knew in high school, had a 55 Plymouth. He pulled the axle, set it beneath the leafs with 2 x 4 blocks to get the elevation he wanted. That thing looked like it could roll over just sitting there. Good times ;D

Before the Charger Stefan had a 63 Impala SS that made the Charger

under the bumper. The star touched the tank in the middle :o Cadillac -59
tail lights, 327 with tunnelram, no hood lots of chrome, 8 inch Grant steering wheel
sidepipes without mufflers Confederate Flag headliner. Ollie my friend that was with me
when we dropped by at your place Dough. Told me he had to hold his hands on the dash to not slip
of from the seat when he road with him and if he turned to fast the front bumper scraped
the ground

Back then, many added bolt-on or 'glassed in fender extenders or 'flares'. Many a muscle car lost a lot of value decades later as the resto crowd had to cut off that scheiss and go back to rolled OEM style steel edges!

Yeah, we didn't make much sense in those days. It was all so new and hip that the biggest tires and most rake won. When I think of all the tire and rake I had in my 65 fastback mustang way back then, times have sure changed. My nowadays 66 sits pretty darn close to dirt.

I remember this video when it came out. Buddy had a new '70 Torino formal roof 351C/4 spd just like it. Only didn't have tires this big:
