Title: Pro 5 Shifter Ad . Which Tremec ?

A guy is selling his brand new Pro5 shifter. I told him that I have a new TKO 600.

Here's the ad.

"Pro 50 T5000 Pro 5.0 Shifter.
$100 + $10 shipping.

"New pro 5.0 short shifter. Will not Work with my aftermarket tremec.
Fits
t500
T600"

I asked him about it and this is what he said.

"This is for the factory style tremec. Not the aftermarket tremec like you have now.
I did the same thing, why I have this one!!

"I believe hurst is the only made for the aftermarket tremecs"

So, is there a difference between a factory Tremec 500/600 and a aftermarket ?
If,...so, the same Pro5 shifter won't work on both ?

Update-

He just said that he has the Magnum Tremec, so I guess the Pro5 won't work on it ???

I thought the Magnum was only in the 6speed line t56. The Magnum is the aftermarket t56 far as I know.

The magnum is the t56 6 spd.  Yes, a 5spd shifter will not work.   I can't see why it won't on your TKO.

It will work on mine, just not his.
