Title: 2019 Ranger rear axle
Post by: Jim Comet on January 18, 2018, 02:39:17 PM
Check out the photo I took in Detroit at the auto show. It looks like the Ranger will get an 8 or 9 inch style rear axle.

I don't see any rust on it, so I doubt it's Toyota.

All I know is the trade journals reported that Dana was the supplier of axles for the new Ranger and Bronco. Looks like something new for Dana.

Being that the new Ranger is not really sized like the 80's Rangers, more like the 70's Rangers, it's probably going to be over 4000 lbs so the axles might be strong enough to swap into old cars. The 8.8 has worked out real well for that for the past 30 years.
