Title: Cams for cammer engine
Post by: Dubs1 on January 12, 2018, 10:55:34 AM
Good morning Jay

At a farm sale in Nebraska I recently purchased a cammer engine, mostly complete sans carb.  Took it to Clay the local engine expert, we pulled the heads.  Block looks good, no cracks, turns over, cam on drivers side  was broken.  Clay says Comp cams makes cams for this engine at we think at a reasonable price.  Your thoughts?   What brands do you recommend?

All the best

I will send you an email with a list of the SOHC grinds available from Comp.  Email me back and we can discuss which one will work best for you.  Congrats on the engine purchase!

The stock cams were cast iron and if you lost a rocker arm you stood a good chance of breaking the cam.  That'd be my guess...

It just seems like there is a lot of cam bearing but something happened, Leny Mason
