3 months ago I picked up a one family owned since new 1966 f100 with all available only INC the BW
3spd OverDrive trans. OverDrive did not work so have been tinkering with it. Finally
Got it to work. Tired of the 12.5 mpg. What a wonderful transmission. Truck has a special
Order 3.25 gear and with .7 OverDrive it's a final drive of 2.275. 2000 rpm gives me
73 MPH! Now for a bit of tuning to see if I can get mid teens in mpg.
Love the way this trans works with auto kickdown etc.
anyone else running one? Sure beats other cost alternatives.

Truck the day I purchased it. Ugly paint but its also a factory Ranger! (Bucket Seats)
The Air Conditioning works better than any other car we have. soooo cold (R12)
Also loaded up with center jump seat, special order 1965 T-bird paint and wheel covers, power steering, power brakes, radio etc
Found it sitting on side of road with For Sale written in shoe polish on windshield.

Is your truck a Ranger? There is a Ranger registry on slick60s.com
If your going to do any parts swapping to gain mpg I recomend an Edelbrock SP2P. I was constantly getting mid teens at 60-65 mph and 13.4 at 80 in my 352, NP435, 4.10 Dana 60 65 F-250. Your lighter truck and gears may have better results. The intake gets a bad name from those who have no experience or used it with an engine not built for low to mid range rpms and fuel economy.
The miliage dipped when I swapped carburetors. Should be improved once I get the first carb squared away.

My wagon was a 289/3sp OD car originally. Thus the only real reason I bought it was it already had THREE pedals in it. My '69 F100 and other '64 Galaxie were automatics I converted to stick.
The transmission worked flawless, I pulled it just a few months after buying the car and replaced it with a toploader 4spd. The car had 3.89 gears! It ran pretty well even at 4600#. With four people on it, you could grab 3rd gear and get some scratch out of the tires ;D Buddy that was riding in the back said..."Did I just hear the tires break loose?" I just laughed.
I sold the transmission to a fellow Net54 guy that met up with me at Columbus years back. We talk occasionally and I think even after over 15 yrs I think he has the transmission put in his 55 Fairlane(if I recall). I sold it way too cheap from what I see they get from them these days.
I did try to get it to split each gear buy hooking a switch up on the dash, but it was shorted lived because I wanted a 4spd handle coming out of the floor. I need to get those pics saved online again.

Just think how much cooler that A/C would work with a belt on the compressor ;D!!!

Oh, ya, if your tensioner pulley is noisy. It takes a std bearing. Mine was rough, removed snap ring, punched old bearing out. Install new bearing, snap ring and wooosh quiet again.

That's a damn cool truck.
I can't remember seeing that seat set up.
And overdrive? To cool.
