Title: 390 USING OIL AND WATER

My uncle has a 390 that he had freshened up,new rings,gaskets,etc.it seems to run ok but after a few days he has to add oil and coolant.its not mixing them,its just using.???

felpro,you think it is his intake seal?after about 50 miles of driving,you have to put in a quart of oil and a quart of water

That's the first suspect on an FE.....

Have him pull the spark plugs and see if he can narrow it down to any particular cylinder.

Did he bend down the head gasket tabs and has he re-torqued the intake manifold bolts after a couple heat cycles, and then again after a few more heat cycles?  I've learned the hard way on both of those.
