Title: c3ae 6015 h
Post by: tbolt on August 04, 2017, 06:06:08 AM
Just wondering who has had any experience with this block casting c3ae-6015-h.  From what I've been able to find out this is a 390 service block.  Engines still in the car, I'm planning on building it to a 406 specs, has anyone had one of theses checked, wondering if it'll handle the overbore?  I know best is to check it out, just interested in some past experiences.  thanks

The c-3's and c-4's i have dealt with had decently thick cylinders but seem to be prone to some core shift. Best thing you can do is have it checked out.

Why bore more than you need to just to need custom pistons? That extra few CI isn't worth the loss of cylinder wall strength in my opinion. Call it whatever you want but only bore it as much as is needed.
