Title: I am back in the fold
Post by: Royce on July 02, 2017, 07:12:31 PM
After being FE-less for several years, This car bit me and would not let go..  352 auto, so I am back at entry level in the FE world..  But then Jay's Galaxie arrived with a 352....Hope mine has the same career path

That thing is beautiful. Congrats.

Stunning car...Best looking of all the 60s models. But then again I'm a bit partial to Starliners.

Nice, Royce!  A cammer would sure go nicely in there...

Jay, A Cammer surely would go nice in there ala John Vermeersch. Do you know of any smoking deals on Cammers? Wait for Coon estate sale?  LOL

In the mean time I will be probing for speed secrets of the much maligned 352. (I knew that 428 crank I bought from you might come in handy)

Not exactly entry level, remember the 332 was first, but certainly not out of grade school with that one ;)

But I agree with Kevin, absolutely the best looking Galaxie ever. They really did get everything right on that design! Congrats on such a beautiful example too! A torquey FE with 3 pedals, some good brakes, and I'd drive the wheels off that thing.
Ford got everything right on those cars for sure. Nice.

I will probably make an evaluation of how healthy the 352 is and go from there.. A torquey 325 horse 352 with a shift kit and a little more stall might make it lively enough to live with for a while.

There is a photoshop thread on HAMB. I'll ask there. Then post the photo here.

MAN, Royce!  Where are these cars when I am looking?  LOL  Beautiful.  I have been looking every day for months for something like that for a build.  Both FEs and Ys.  Haven't seen a decent car with two doors for sale in a LONG time.  Joe-JDC

+1 with Joe!  Especially the '61 Starliners.  The good ones are few and far between and expen$ive!  Looking forward to seeing the build Royce.

Nice score. I just got back into FE's last year for the about the same reason. Ran across one last year at the Run to the Sun show in Lk. Havasu. Car looked bone stock but had a built 427 in it. After looking it over and talking with the owner I was hooked. Searched a while for one that I could afford and finally found one. Good starting point with a 406, 3x2's and toploader and its rust free but has a lot of ugly and wtf repairs done to it. Plan is to return it to close to stock as I can. Slowly getting there.

HAMB came thru again. I don't really like the look.
Seems that the tail fins detract from the smooth roof line.

Hmmm .... roof needs to be shorter or trunk longer.. Might look better on a Fairlane than a Custom..
