While my engine is at the machine shop I decided to look at new oil pans. I want a T pan for road clearance, I looked at Moroso and Canton T pans. I notice they have a stroke limit. Moroso has 3.98 and canton is 4.125. I don't understand how they are different when you use the same windage try. I was using a Cobra T pan and never even considered the stroke would effect the pan. By the way I have a 4.25 eagle crank and the stock windage tray in a 69 mach 1.

All the pans fit strokers just fine.
The windage tray from Moroso will not fit anything
The canton screen type tray clears strokers - sometimes needs just a little tweak in a couple spots
-
Hard to have a stroke limit on a skirted block. :)
I would look hard at Milodon as well. They are always spotlessly clean out of the box and the finish doesn't turn to pot quickly like the Moroso and Canton pans do.

thanks guys

I running a Milodon pan and a Canton screen type tray. The tray only needed trimming for dipstick clearance, otherwise fit fine with a 4.25" Scat crank. The pan has retained its finish for a couple of years now, still looks good.

$496.00 for an oil pan? That's more than my allowance can afford.

It may not be shiny and purdy but I have the stock pan from 63 I believe its 7 qts and a stock windage tray and it clears just fine ;)

I really like the fit on my Canton in the Mustang. I went with the road race version. At the time, I bought it from Doug Garifo

Canton road race T-pan here too in my '70 Mach 1 (351W ) but the gold anodizing has come off and I had to re-paint it on the car.

Probably one of the most important investments in your engine you can make. $500 for a decent pan is not a lot of money. I cringe at the prices I see for FE aftermarket (compared to other makes) parts but oil pans are a bargain.

OK I got the Milodon T pan 7 qt 6" deep. This thing has a ton of baffles. It looks like the pickup goes in a a different spot. Do you you have to use the Milodon pickup? I have a Moroso pickup I think not positive who made it that I used with the Cobra T pan.

The pickups are pretty similar between the two but I'm not sure if they interchange. A quick mock-up will let you know.
