I sent an email to Quickfuel about some carburetors and I got a reply back from a Ty Peek at Holley technical services. Does Holley now own Quick Fuel?
-
Yes, for a while now.
Marvin (the previous owner of QFT) is gone, along with quite a few helpful salesmen that used to work there.
In addition, we used to be able to order carbs or parts and then we would run down to BG and pick them up. Can't do that anymore....everything has to be shipped.
It's a pain.
-
Yeah, got worse recently.....
I used to order 4 different QFT carb kits with some regularity, probably a 4 a month or so. It's a lot harder to get the stuff through now. You can still get decent stuff from AED, BLP, Braswell, and Allstate carb.

Thanks guys. I am looking at getting a couple of 715cfm QF carbs for my 452FE. Is this still a good place to get carbs? I have a 1050cfm QF(4150) and am happy with it. Here is a pic of what I am looking at.

Yes - - and they sure ain't the same outfit
-
Yes, those would be the carbs to get.
Drew, we buy carb kits by the truckload. If you have trouble just yell at me first.
-
Brent I'll be hollering as I started the search last night for kits for a couple 750 vacuum secondary quickfuels.
-
I noticed that all the QF stuff in my Wishlist at Summit has gone to "Not Available". Switching to AED parts.
-
A few of us still have ties to QFT....Barry, Blair, and myself. Don't abandon ship, but just give us a ring to get what you need.

The only carb issues I seem to have lately is that I see a lot of needle/seat assemblies - Holley parts - go south. I've replaced two in the Mustang's carb so far this year, one late season last year. They work for a while then one end of the carb starts flooding out. I have ordered some AED .110 for the dragster carb, just to try something fresh. And because it seems to be running out of fuel in the shutdown. Have a BG280 pump I'm going to rebuild and try as a fix for that.
The QFT parts I liked to use were their metering block pairs. I never really got much good out of the ProForm blocks and switching to using QFT with even a ProForm body made a big difference in tuning.

To my knowledge Quick fuel and pro form 4150 billet main body is/was the same part /brand/manufacturing :-\

Hold off on the sad face - I've had much better luck with the ProForm/QF main bodies than with the Holley bodies. I haven't tried a Holley lately but i the past the ProForm part was mucho higher quality.

Ha-Ha it was supposed to be a confused smiley , who owns who , who buy from who, who manufactures for who
Now Holley is pushing real hard on the market with the new warier and brawler alloy carbs and to me it just looks like QFs carbs with a different
color and tag :-\ I also believe BLP makes stuff for AED.
-
BLP and AED are quality folks.
It is unfortunate that Holley likes to buy up all of these companies, it kills innovation and promotes stagnant products.
-
Yes BLP makes great stuff. The biggest problem with Holley for decades has been there quality control, and now its wears than ever :(
