Had to completely chop out the trans crossmember. Imagine that !
-
I love builds like this. That's old school hot rodding! And a '54 Mercury is a GREAT place to start!! They are beautiful cars. Yours reminds me of the hot rodded '54 Lincoln in Moonshine Highway. But that yellow.....it's definitely....yellow! :o LOL
Should be a cool and fun car to drive.

Woohoo
Nice Bruce
Congrats

Sweet! Friend has a 54 conv. we just pulled the yblock out of to send to the paint shop. He's not sure what to put back in it yet. He's leaning towards a sbf but he also has a couple FEs laying around.
-
I think the yellow fan would make it run 10 degrees cooler .
-
Keeping the Y block would make it run 10 mph faster LOL
-
A car i always wanted is a mid 50s Ford / Mercury with a FE and
a Fourspeed Chrome reverse wheels a chromed rollbar and
black interior .......

Keeping the Y block would make it run 10 mph faster LOL
I should ban you for that comment, Royce ;D
-
I Know, I know, I am pushing it... This is a Y Block free zone, but it was just too easy... It would have been better if it had been the witty reply to a Peasley or Joel comment.
-
Speaking of Peasley, he sent me a picture of him driving his 57 up on a trailer.. In the background my sharp eyes spied a 71 Olds 98 hiding in his garage.. His new retirement ride..I did not see if it had skirts. LOL
-
Great looking ride Bruce.Should be well worth the effort........Sadly Royce, the skirts you speak of have been the only kind I've affiliated myself with for quite a while.Heartaches have diminished considerably.
-
Nice! ;)
But you have to get rid of the yellow fan! Yikes!
-
Yellow fan stays cause everybody hates it , also helps keep my fingers out of it. LOL.
