Title: 1300 miles = 427 cubic inches
Post by: plovett on March 12, 2017, 12:35:16 PM
I just drove 21 hours out of 22 hours and was rewarded with a 427 block,  thanks to Jim (Hotrodfeguy).

I got to meet Jim Wagner and his wife Michelle.   They were very nice.  Jim did a great repair on this 427 block and let me have it for a great price.

Sorry Jim.  I tend to hug people in exchange for 427's.   Just be glad I didn't kiss ya.

Love that you made it an adventure and how 'bout that mailbox.
Congrats.

I do love crazy-messed-up-painful-wacky-existential-mind-binding road trips.

When I got back to Kansas City last night/this morning,  I was at first freaked out.  I looked at my phone as I was coming into my driveway.  It said, "3:45".  I thought it was around 2:45.   My initial reaction was that I was so tired that I had lost an hour somewhere without knowing it.   That kind of freaked me out as I had been driving all this time.  I wondered if I had driven around Kansas City aimlessly for an hour instead of going straight home.  It's not a good feeling.

Hunter S. Thompson would understand.

I didn't figure it out until after I woke up this morning.

I had forgot about Daylight Savings time.
