Is there a manual ford put out for the use and tuning of the 427 sohc motor and is one available ?

There was a service manual brought out by Ford, you can buy a copy of it from here: http://www.sohc-shop.com/new-parts/
It would be really useful if there was a more up to date manual was available that covered both building and tuning SOHC engines, hint hint Jay. ;D

Thanks that's what I was looking for.

If I remember right, I paid $100 for what was supposed to be an original about 20 years ago at Columbus. Looks just like the picture. It might be a repro too!

Message me! I have it in PDF. I also have the SAE paper on it. :)
Aside from the manual and the SAE paper, you just need to post any build on here. It's kinda mandatory. Also, it's the best way to get Jay's insight into your engine without having him build it for you.
