Title: Dominator on a 4V High Riser Intake
Post by: garyv on January 07, 2017, 08:42:33 PM
I have tried to search this on the other forum but didn't see much. I know Dove makes a 4V dominator HR single plane intake
but has anyone tried using an adaptor and running a Dominator on a Ford factory 4V HR dual plane intake?
I would think maybe JayB or Blair has done this and just wonder what the results were. Good, bad, didn't make
any difference?
I have a bunch of parts lying around and contemplating a HR project and I have a 4V intake and Davinci Sportsman Dominator so
I'm thinking why not.
Interested in hearing anyone's experiences or thoughts.

HVH-SS-4500-4150 adapter is the way to go in my opinion.

I ran one on my high riser as a test, but it was on a Dove single plane intake, not a dual plane.  Carb worked fine, but didn't make as much power as the tunnel wedge setup - Jay

Gary, I failed to mention that you really need a spacer on the intake to cover up the voids in the carburetor pad, and it would be even better if you had the four holes blended in a radius to help prevent turbulence.  The radius would be facing the super sucker.  I have tried that with up to three inches of spacers.  An open plenum works best, but the high riser 4V is a dual plane, and needs some help with that carb pad.   Joe-JDC

Joe I have my intake here beside me and I see what you are saying about those voids that need covered.
Makes you wonder why they are there unless its to help with keeping the fuel charge cooler maybe.
I'll take your advice on dealing with them and blending the radius on the four holes
Appreciate you taking the time to respond
