Hi I am going to building Mounts for my blown FE just trying to get some ideas from people that have done this I am sure stock mounts will not work thanks Leny Mason

Leny, the best solution I've tried is to use a piece of chain with just a bit of slack left in it. If you 1/4" chain and have about a 1/2- 3/4 inch of slack it'll come tight with any serious amount of torque. But the vibration is lacking when 'cruising'.
I've also used, when dealing with a motor plate, a couple of inches of fore-'n'-aft 3/4 inch tubing welded into the plate. Then you fill the tube with rubber hose, with the ID just right for a bolt. Sheet rubber at both ends of the tube protect the ends of the tube from the 'ears' on the chassis.

Thanks with a cammer I think a Motor plate is out or I haven't seen one any way, I have chained the 390 in my Torino because the motor mount broke, I am looking for ideas, The Tin Man makes mounts that look OK I saw them at the PRI show in Florida . Leny Mason

Leny, I always just use factory mounts that are either bolted together through the rubber, or have an external strap to the frame to keep the engine from moving. Never broken a factory mount that way.
