Title: Dyno cost
Post by: FERoadster on October 02, 2016, 07:08:29 PM: I'm having a 427-454 put together and want a dyno session on it once I get it together. Single 4bbl probably a 750 Holley F427 or Streetmaster intake. That will be my base line.
Once I get it in the car and running for a while I'm installing a 6X2 intake (mainly for looks) but I've contacted Joe Crain to work the intake over.
I've got Jay's book and can see how the 6X2 compared to others but would consider pulling the engine and have another dyno session.
Cost is an issue and I'd have to transport the engine about 130 miles for the dyno. I wouldn't have to ship it.
So what do you pay for a dyno session?

Post by: Gregwill16 on October 02, 2016, 08:05:31 PM: Around here (KY) it is $500 a day + fuel and any parts needed. I just paid for 2 lol, all I can say is ask lots of questions beforehand to make your decision of which shop to use and seek out individuals that have previously used them.

Post by: jayb on October 03, 2016, 08:09:47 AM: AT R&R Performance, where I used to go before I bought my own dyno, I believe it is $75 per hour, minimum 4 hour session. Depending on the complexity of the engine, you can often get done in 4 hours, but also could be 8.
