So Jay, now that DW16 is in the books whats next? Is the TT SOHC Galaxie project moving to the top of the list? A updated 1200hp Shelby to retake the BB/NA crown? A return of the Mach1? A new book? Maybe a whole new car? Inquiring FE minded people want to know! Whatever it is i'm sure it will be great. And congrats on the effort this year, the car is one of the baddest street cars in the country.

I'm hoping blocks.. ;D

As long as he doesn't give it all up and start collecting vintage stamps, its going to be good whatever it is.

I have so much to do. Rough priority list as follows:
1 - Get out and race the Shelby clone with different gears before the end of this year
2- Finish 68 Mustang project
3 - Finish new dyno mule, test 351C intakes plus the intake adapter.
4 - Finish new FE cylinder head design
5 - Finish restoration on 68 Shelby
6 - Get twin turbo SOHC together, dyno test
7 - Put 4 link in the Galaxie, prep for turbo engine

And we all thought you were busy. :o
-
Oh man I forgot about the 68 mustang! That was the Memorial day weekend project wasn't it. Lol, man I envy your motivation i'll tell ya that.
-
That 68 looked to be pretty close eh Jay?
The Shelby 68 thats a different story.
-
Jay, were you able to peek under the Blue Belvedere built by Troy Trepanier? He's got that turbo setup.
-
Nope, never got the chance. I've got a pretty good idea of how I'm going to do mine anyway...
-
Can't we have dessert first? TT SOHC motor? sweet baby's daddy! Yes please!
-
8-buy ready-to-run early Mustang Pro-Mod chassis and body, 100% complete, with tranny, save the engine.
9-plop-in any number of FE's or SOHC's already in your stash.
10-run e.t.'s from low 8.0's to mid-7's (or less) based on engine choice!
Yee-hah!

7 - "Put 4 link in the Galaxie, prep for turbo engine" Geez Jay,the Galaxie seems to launch well with the current set up and give ya room for the turbos and clearance for the road.Save the four link coin for the clone car to leverage to its potential.
-
As I hinted in my build thread Jay, a natural progression for my mustang would be to turbo it.
I'm going to learn EFI with this motor and on the next one mate that to turbos.
So I will be way interested in your progress with that project. Hope you're getting lots of rest now because your schedule looks like you'll be busy until next years DW.

I want to put bigger tires on the Galaxie, Steve, so I've got to do something back there. I like the 4 link setup on the clone, so I'm inclined to go that way. Besides, with the leaf springs the car will not fit into any Drag Week class except Unlimited (believe it or not! Kinda stupid, really...). With a 4 link or ladder bars out back, and the same tires I'm running in the clone, the car will fit into Modified Power Adder.

Jay didn't you build a new HiRiser for the Mach1? Have you had it to the track recently? The last I remember about that car it ate a rear right before DW.

One of my favorite threads ever.

Hey thanks for the link, I can't believe that was 2012. I was just wondering what happened after it was installed. I don't remember if Jay ever ran it at the track. What a nice engine tho, that thing Almost looks better than the SOHC.
