Thought you guys might enjoy this as I did.
The other day I was stuck going across town in traffic when what do my little eyes spy but this sweet little Lincoln.
It has all kinds of race participation stickers on it from the Targa California and TT. The suspension looked all business and you can see it has good tires. It sounded great. I got to ask the driver what engine it had and he said the original 368 but this car looks to be a '53 to me and I thought the 368s came out in '56. Info anyone?
I didn't get a chance to ask him why the hell it's out here in traffic but it was running great.

That is cool. Thanks for sharing. I like those rims.

What a neat car...I love those old Lincolns. 53-54 were 317" Lincoln engine, 55 had a 341" IIRC and the 368" came out in 56 thru 57. 58 came the 430 MEL. Other engines of that engine family were 279"-302"-332" [truck application only]

That's what I thought also about 368s being a 56-57 deal.

Those Lincolns were road raced in 52- 53- 54 and won their class in the Pan American Road race thru Mexico. Built, maintained and raced by Bill Stroppe of Long Beach, Ca. for Lincoln/Mercury. Lots of history with those 'ol Lincolns.

Very nice, thanks for posting.
As to the 368 being "original", what he stated is probably what I also would mention to average viewer rather than explain that it is the original model engine albeit larger version than that particular year.
