The October 2016 issue of Hot Rod magazine arrived in my mailbox today. On flipping through it I came across an article detailing the 1966 Ford GT40 LeMans effort 427 engine. A pretty good article with some extremely cool pictures of our beloved FE all laid out in pieces for inspection. I will say author Thom Taylor felt the need to slight the background pedigree of the engine that won just about every form of auto racing at the time, but I guess we're used to that and it didn't spoil the article. The same issue also has a feature on a custom ( non FE powered ) 1963 Galaxie that contains a couple sidebars on the R-Code 427 Galaxies and the Lightweight Galaxies. There's also an article on a couple street legal cars competing to exceed 200mph at the Ohio mile, one of which is a late model Ford Mustang. For Hemi Joel and Jerico Jeff there's even a story about a '66 Hemi Belvedere and it's quest for 200 at the Ohio mile, a little something for everyone here LOL.
