Are the common carbon steel time serts what is commonly used it the aluminum heads when replacing the helicoils or is a better grade or different material serts being used ?

I like these better than time serts; I've broken a time sert or two. Also you can get these with larger diameter external threads, to hold more force. I've used the 5/8" OD ones before for 3/8-16 threads, like rocker shaft studs, to handle really big valve springs.

Sweet !!.
Thanks Jay.
Should I use a standard tapered tap with those or a bottom tap ?
Maybe a tighter fit with the tapered tap ?

I've always used a standard bottoming tap. They come with some kind of a thread sealing or locking compound already applied - Jay
