Wanted to make things simpler so took off the old cooler and fan:

Put a lot bigger one on which hopefully won't need a fan.

OK, during the first run the trans struggles to get up to temp because you have too much cooler. The second and subsequent runs get up to temp, but the variable now affects the ET from the first run. Do you need a bigass cooler for drag runs? How about a deep pan with a smaller cooler, perhaps a subframe rail mounted inline?

I think you're ok.

Geez, that's a monster! :o Who makes that cooler, Earl?

This is my street car. It already has a deep pan but the total capacity isn't that great because of the 8 inch converter. I just need a good cooler for the 2.5 mile drive on dirt roads at 10-15 MPH to the highway in hot weather. I needed to keep the fan on to keep the temp in the pan under 200* on the dirt road with the small cooler.

It's this one:

Tested the air flow in front of the trans cooler and with the fans on, a paper towel gets sucked against the cooler. Pretty sure I don't need a separate fan for the cooler. :)

Pretty awesome.
Hopefully it won't negatively impact your water temps.

Oh. Sorry. I ban myself for stupidity.

Don't feel bad I was wondering the same thing when I saw that big cooler.
