Title: Bad news for Mallory ign lovers
Post by: AlanCasida on July 17, 2016, 06:45:04 PM
and for Unilite lovers(like myself) in particular. Not sure when this happened but it seems that MSD has absorbed Mallory and among other things, have dropped the Unilite from their lineup. I know there are those out there who do not care for the Unilite and that's fine. I have never had any trouble from any of mine and I like the idea of having an electronic ignition that does not require a "box" to run it.

They appear to still be selling service parts:

That was 18 months ago, almost 12 since Holley bought the whole group.  So far all Mallory parts I need are still there, some with different part numbers.  I just put a Mallory steel gear on an MSD distributor, gear way cheaper than the MSD part number.

That happened a long time ago. Mallory did put out an entire cross reference for their parts, to the closest matching MSD part. Sometimes various online sources will still have Mallory stock. This day and age, lots of the stuff is probably produced by the same company anyways. But, I've always liked to have something a little different. MSD seems overplayed, kinda like K&N.

I am an ignition Frankenstein anyhow, MSD, DUI, Mallory and Acell all mixed in with some TFI and Duraspark stuff. Leaves em guessing I guess LOL.
