Howdy,
I 'rescued' what I believe to be a 351C from the scrap yard, and am in the process of taking it apart. I have no use for it, so I plan to sell or give its bits away. It looks like it was left outside in the rain for quite a few years as the heads and cylinders have water damage and rust. Has a dual plane aluminum Edelbrock performer intake. Can someone recommend a website or two where I could give this stuff away to somebody who could make good use of it??
Here are a few photos.

Small Pics on the phone but a2v Cleveland

You can send a pm to Brent lykins on the forum here. He runs a 351c forum and is a stand up guy.

Yes it's a 351. The 400 has a vertical ridge just to the right of the distributor.

Sadly that block looks really bad with all that heavy rust in the cylinders.
Would probably need a bunch of sleeves to make it usable.
Take it apart and clean it up some and see if it can be saved.
Decent Cleveland blocks are becoming harder to find.

Thank you everyone for your replies. The block may not be bad in all cylinders now that I've started cleaning up the crud. It looks like the rust in the bores is mostly rust that sluffed from the intake and gathered in and stuck to the oil and carbon. When you wipe the crud, most of it comes off with a clean looking bore underneath. After I pull the crank and pull the rods and finish the wipe-down, we'll see how bad things still look. I may have also found someone I can give the block/crank to, a local racer here in Sacramento.
The Edelbrock aluminum performer LB intake will be up for sale soon enough though.

Sorry Jay, hope this is ok here just trying to help him find the info . I will remove if you need me to.

Typical but not 100%. Some of the 351M blocks (same block) don't have the fin.
With those 2V heads - if they are salvageable - you won't need port tongues, just so you know. If the block has to go over .030 to clean up, it's iffy because all those, like the other SBF units, are thin wall cast. 2V open heads, decent cam and attention to detail can yield 400 HP or better easy. Casting numbers for the heads are under the intake ports, casting number for the block will be right side (starter side) near the pan rail. Unlike an FE, you can get a reasonable picture of the application from the casting #s for a 351C. Your heads have the "2" cast in, which means they are likely early - pre 73 - heads but the casting number will confirm that. Anything 2V post 73 is iffy because of emissions changes and heat in the exhaust. 1975 up Ford put a cooling passage around the exhaust valve guide which makes the exhaust port almost unusable for anything but show and shine. Post 71 2V heads are very prone to cracking in the exhaust seat area, so 100% they should be magged before any work is performed.

Port tongue's were for
gdaddy01.

Sorry - missed that. I'd be interested but it's better money spent to buy AFD heads than to do up bare old iron 4Vs anymore.
-
I agree, .
There are a few guys still left that like the old school stuff though. I have a friend that still uses a set of 351C heads with Rouch exhaust port plates. He refused to get a set of aluminum heads.

I still have a set of bare castings. The Mustang runs iron with port tongues and a Funnelweb 4V. Easy 500HP. To get the old iron heads prepped here - cut for studs, bronze thick wall guides, seats cut, spring seats cut, etc it's close to $1200 for the machining and labor. That's with no parts. With AFDs close to $1500 bare, why bother. 8)
