Title: Headline: "This ’69 Ford Mustang is a Lesson in Tasteful Modification"
Post by: Qikbbstang on June 13, 2016, 07:35:12 AM
This headline greeted me this morning on my Yahoo home page            To me this authors "lesson" in tasteful Modification demonstrates how subtle two-tone paint, the reinforced stock-height front splitter/ rear spoiler, custom scoop and hood louvres do not work. Pointing out how well FoMoCo engineers did on the stock MACH 1 scheme.

There's always the car sales where the seller claims how much money was "invested" in the car (in this case $175,000) this is one of those sales.

That thing is fugly.  If that's the author's idea of "tasteful", I'd like to see what he thinks not tasteful looks like...

I don't dis-like the look. But to get to $175,000.00 you'd have to give a blank check to a modifier and tell him to make as many changes as he could dream up.

It's not intended to be a drag car. Most of what's been done is in the direction of sustained high speed and road racing.

If that is the car I think it is, the guy had it built in the US with the intent of import it to his country when finished. Unfortunately the tax laws changed in his country & import tax made it prohibitive.

Yep, here it is:

It's the green. would look a whole lot better in red & black without the white stripe in between.

Whew, I had a little doubt, could it just be me seeing it as a surprisingly effective means to ruin the appearance of one classic Mustang...

Everything about that car is wrong to me. Wrong paint design, wrong engine, wrong spoilers, wrong interior. Ugh
I also hate ebay listings when they show 25 pictures of the same side of the car.
